Fire and Water Damage

Fire damage to a wall and the photo hanging about. After a house fire smoke and soot is not your only problem. You'll also have to deal with water damage.

Next door fire

The Fire Next Door

When the next door neighbor's house caught on fire and embers made it on, as well as under, the siding of the neighbors house. Fortunately for the homeowners sake, they were able to notice the damage quickly and then put it out themselves before our crew arrived.

Riding water extractor on carpet

Bank experienced a water loss!

When our project manager’s bank experienced a water loss, they knew to call the experts at their premier, local, trusted restoration company. We responded right away to help our friends! In this photograph, you can see our technician going for a ride on one of our deep extraction tools, also known as the (Rover HVE??). This joy ride uses the operator’s weight to compress the carpet and pad to squeeze out water and remove moisture through the vacuum system. Similar to a zero-turn mower, we are able to extract nearly all of the water from carpets, even around corners. SERVPRO uses the best available professional equipment to work most efficiently and get this financial institution back to banking in no time.

water on smoke detector

Water dripping from their hard-wired smoke detector.

A local hotel called us with a peculiar situation. They had water dripping from their hard-wired smoke detector. The plumber identified a leak in a pipe that ran through the ceiling to the fire sprinkler system. Although you may only see a few water droplets in this photograph, believe that this was just the tip of the iceberg. This hardware only covers a small hole in the ceiling where the water had pooled and finally escaped. When we arrived, we were able to remove the affected insulation above the area and dry the ceiling, restoring it to its preloss condition. The business owner was, in fact, quite fortunate in this situation, as it could have been a whole lot worse.

Drying system in bathroom

Injectidry Drying Systems dry high-risk areas of hidden moisture.

This little girl’s bathroom toilet sprung a major leak that, unfortunately, went unnoticed for quite some time. When traditional drying methods weren’t moving along fast enough, we pulled out our specialized equipment. This is our state-of-the-art injectidry system. This innovative system targets the non-visible side of the wall and moves air throughout the wall cavity, aiding in more rapid drying. Injectidry Drying Systems dry high-risk areas of hidden moisture using positive pressure, and by removing moist air with negative pressure. By exchanging air in the wall cavities, air movement becomes a transport vehicle for moisture. It is also used to dry behind ceilings, floors, and beneath and behind cabinets and stairwells. We were able to make progress on this difficult-to-dry area and save the area from having to be demolished and reconstructed, making sure to take special care of the unicorns.

Wet floor at bar

One of our favorite pubs.

One of our favorite pubs experienced a major conundrum. We received a call from the manager letting us know that a plumbing issue with a pipe in their wet bar caused a monsoon of water into their dining area. The plumber responded right away, and we were able to begin work immediately. Luckily the floors were not carpeted, however, there was a lot of wood that could have potentially been damaged. Water can cause irreversible damage to wood and other porous materials rapidly, wicking moisture up from the ground, causing the wood to swell, and even split.  We responded immediately after their call, knowing that time is of the essence. We were able to immediately begin extracting the water, carefully moving all of their furniture, tables, and chairs out of the mess. After thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the area and replacing all of their furniture they were ready to open on time the next day.

Drying wet carpet

Heavy springtime rains.

Heavy springtime rains are beautiful when they aren’t flooding your home. In this particular circumstance, the homeowner had recently installed an egress window and new carpet in their finished basement to allow for it to be used as an extra bedroom. An unexpected clog in the window well’s drainage system caused water to seep in around the window. With this area of the home not in regular use, it was easy to overlook. When the homeowner noticed, they called us right away. We were able to remove excess water from the carpets, preserving the integrity of the newly installed carpet. Once we surveyed the damage, we began setting fans, dehumidifiers, and our specialized commercial-grade equipment nearest the water source to maximize and concentrate the drying. Once dry we livened the carpet back up with a thorough cleaning and Scotchgard.

The town needs their pizza!

When our favorite pizza place experienced a large water mess from their (dish machine/ice machine?) we had to come to the rescue! The town needs their pizza! We moved in without haste and began the drying process.

If left unattended this could have ended up in swollen, damaged baseboards, ruined walls, unusable carpet, mold infestation, and what’s worst, NO PIZZA! We isolated the affected area and began decreasing the humidity, increasing the temperature, and creating a vortex-type air movement. Our technicians closely monitored the drying process to ensure progress and made adjustments as necessary. We loved helping out this awesome business and were happy to get them cleaned up quickly without interruption to operations.
